KYC, or “Know Your Customer”, is the set of checks SlimKing uses to confirm who you are, how old you are and, occasionally, where your gambling money comes from. Every UK-licensed casino has to do it, and done properly it takes less time than a single round of live blackjack. This guide explains what SlimKing checks and when, which documents it accepts, and how to avoid the small mistakes that cause most rejected uploads.
Why UK casinos verify players
The UK Gambling Commission requires every licensed operator to verify customers. The reasons are straightforward:
- Protecting under-18s. Nobody under 18 may gamble, even with free spins or demo-style offers.
- Preventing fraud and money laundering. Casinos must know whose money is moving through accounts.
- Supporting safer gambling. Knowing a customer helps a casino spot when spending may be causing harm.
- Faster, safer payouts. Once you are verified, withdrawals are not held up by basic identity questions.
SlimKing operates under a Great Britain gambling licence; you can check the licence number shown in the footer of the SlimKing site against the UK Gambling Commission’s public register.
What SlimKing checks at sign-up
When you register, SlimKing runs an automatic check on your name, date of birth and address against electronic records. This happens before you can deposit or play, and in most cases it passes within seconds. It is a soft search, so it leaves no mark on your credit file.
If the electronic check cannot confirm your details, perhaps because you recently moved or your name is spelled differently on official records, SlimKing will ask you to upload documents instead. Your account remains restricted until they are approved.

Documents SlimKing may ask for
| Document | Accepted examples | Tips |
|---|---|---|
| Photo ID | Passport, UK driving licence (photocard) | Must be in date; all four corners visible; no glare across the photo |
| Proof of address | Utility bill, council tax bill, bank statement | Dated within the last 3 months; your name and address clearly shown |
| Proof of payment (card) | Photo of your debit card | Cover the middle 8 digits; first 6 and last 4 visible, plus your name |
| Proof of payment (e-wallet) | Screenshot of your PayPal, Skrill or Neteller account page | Show your name and email or account ID |
| Proof of payment (bank) | Online banking screenshot or statement | Show name, account details and the SlimKing transaction |
| Source of funds / wealth | Payslips, bank statements, P60, evidence of savings or an inheritance | Only requested for higher spending; recent documents work best |
Never send your card’s full number, CVV/security code, PIN or online banking passwords. SlimKing does not need them, and nobody legitimate will ask.
How to upload your documents
- Log in to SlimKing and open Account → Verification.
- Choose the document type requested (ID, address, payment or source of funds).
- Take a clear photo or scan, or upload a PDF downloaded from your bank or utility provider.
- Check the file is JPG, PNG or PDF and no larger than 10 MB.
- Submit and watch the status change from “requested” to “pending” to “approved”.
Upload everything SlimKing has requested at once. A partial upload often means a second round of back-and-forth and a longer wait.
Corner tip
Review times
| Check | Typical time |
|---|---|
| Automatic age and ID check at sign-up | Seconds |
| Document review (ID, address, payment) | 24–48 hours |
| Source of funds / affordability review | 24–48 hours once all documents are in; longer if more are needed |
| Withdrawal internal review | Up to 24 hours (priority for VIP Challenger and above) |
SlimKing human agents work on live chat from 08:00 to midnight UK time, so an upload sent late at night is usually picked up the next morning. If 48 hours pass with no update, ask live chat for a status check.
Source of funds and affordability checks, explained calmly
If your deposits rise, SlimKing may ask how you fund your play. This is not an accusation; UK rules require operators to make sure customers can afford what they spend. You may be asked to:
- answer a few questions about your income or employment;
- upload recent payslips, bank statements or a P60;
- show the source of a larger sum, such as savings, a property sale or an inheritance.
Your information is used for the SlimKing review, not shared with lenders. While the check is open, deposits may be paused. If the review suggests your spending is higher than is comfortable, SlimKing may set limits on your account. That can feel frustrating, but it is exactly the kind of protection the rules intend. Gambling should never be a way to make money or cover debts; if it has started to feel that way, the National Gambling Helpline (0808 8020 133, free, 24/7) and our responsible gambling guide can help.
Rejected documents: reasons and fixes
| Rejection reason | Fix |
|---|---|
| Blurry, cropped or glare on the photo | Retake in good light with all four corners visible |
| Document expired | Upload a current passport or driving licence |
| Proof of address older than 3 months | Download a recent bank statement or utility bill |
| Name or address does not match the account | Ask support to update your details, or send a document matching the account |
| Screenshot of a screenshot, or edited file | Upload the original PDF or photo; edited files are always refused |
| Card photo shows all digits | Retake with the middle 8 digits covered |
| Document belongs to someone else | Only your own documents and payment methods are accepted |
Data security
You are handing over sensitive documents, so it is fair to ask how they are protected. As a UK licensee, SlimKing must store personal data securely and only keep it as long as the law requires. To protect yourself:
- upload only through Account → Verification on the real SlimKing site;
- ignore emails or texts asking you to send ID by reply or to an unfamiliar link;
- turn on two-factor authentication, as described in our login guide;
- never share your password or 2FA codes with anyone, including people claiming to be support.
How KYC affects your withdrawals
Verification is the main reason a SlimKing withdrawal can feel slow. SlimKing reviews every withdrawal internally for up to 24 hours, and if documents are outstanding, the payment waits until they are approved. Once you are fully verified, PayPal, Skrill and Neteller payouts arrive in up to 2 hours after approval, Trustly bank transfers in the same day to one working day, and debit card payouts in 1–3 working days.
Our advice: complete any SlimKing document request as soon as it appears, before you request a large cash-out. Read our withdrawals guide for limits and methods, or the account troubleshooting guide if a restriction is holding things up.
